In 2016 we delivered the first in our series of low latency, highly linear BDA for two way radio technologies including TETRA for the underground hard rock market.
In 2017 we released new products to support LTE over leaky feeder cable to underground mines and tunnels. The product includes a two-way radio BDA so the same product can replace existing underground BDA systems to provide LTE and Two Way communications on the same leaky cable.
Propagating communication signals underground
METStech BDA solution amplifies and propagates a communication signal upto +12dBm, the BDA's can be linked together via a radiating cable to provide coverage laterally along the length. The BDA's can be connected to the end of the cable extending the signal over many km. The BDA has incredible small latency removing the need for expensive fiber fed picocells.
METStech work with multiple vendors hardware such as LTE cores and two way repeaters.
SIMPLE TO DESIGN
The LTE BDA system works similar to an existing underground two-way radio system. The design rules are based on length of run and splitters inserted in the path.
DUAL PURPOSE
A dual BDA is available for VHF + LTE or UHF + LTE. This allows the same cable to support two- way and LTE communications.
SIMPLE TO INSTALL
The radiating cable is terminated with a N type connector and the BDA inserted every 150- 300m dependent on frequency. Electricians experienced with existing two-way BDA systems will be able to install an advanced LTE solution.
